Our Mission
The mission of Compton's school counseling program is to provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program that addresses the areas of academic, career, and personal/social development. School counselors will support all students in overcoming barriers that impede learning as well as creating a safe atmosphere where students will become lifelong learners.
We Believe:
- All students can learn and achieve given proper support
- All students have the right and opportunity to participate in guidance curriculum that supports academic, career, and personal/social development
School Counselors Will:
- Collaboratively implement the comprehensive program to address all students’ developmental needs
- Be an advocate for every member of the school community
- Follow professional and ethical guidelines as stated by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA)
