Key Club

Key Club Criteria

At Compton, we have an exciting opportunity for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students.  Each semester, we will be inducting our students into the prestigious Key Club.  It is an amazing honor for student to attain membership into the club.  Students must meet the criteria in the areas of math, reading, and character in order to be inducted into the club.  Below are the criteria to obtain membership:

Reading

·    Name appears 2 times (December induction) or 3 times (May induction) on the Reading Wall of Fame.

Wall of Fame Criteria:

-3rd graders must read 400 min/month

-4th graders must read 450 min/month

-5th graders must read 500 min/month

·    Student receives mastery level in Reading on report card:

1.    4th/5th grades- A or B

2. 3rd grade- 3

Math

·    Name appears 1 time (December induction) or 1 time (May induction) on the Math Wall of Fame.

Wall of Fame Criteria:

-3rd graders must master 80% on 3rd grade benchmark test

-4th graders must master 80% on 4th grade benchmark test

-5th graders must master 80% on 5th grade benchmark test

·    Student receives mastery level in Math on report card:

(same as above for each grade level)

Character

·    NO behavior referrals for the semester.

·    Good/Outstanding referrals.

·    Good Citizenship.

·    No N/U on report card.

Remember, this is a prestigious club, not every child will attain membership.  This is meant to celebrate those students who go above and beyond what is expected.
