How it all began…
Coach Spiegel has a passion for gymnastics, especially tumbling. If she were able to choose only one sport to teach, it would be the tumbling aspect of gymnastics. “I was in gymnastics and also competed since I was 5 years old. I have always loved being upside down and even now still can be found turning cartwheels or standing on my hands,” expressed Coach Spiegel. During the tumbling unit she taught last year, she noticed quite some talent in some of her young students that simply excelled, which gave her the idea for an advanced tumbling group.
This year the Compton ELITE tumblers were incorporated. This is an invite only group of tumblers who must already posses certain tumbling skills, as well as demonstrates adequate academics and behavior characteristics. The group started off with 6 tumblers and has now doubled. We meet Tuesday – Thursday and some Fridays before school.
